ハナゴケ科に属する鱗片状地衣である本種は,日本と台湾にのみ分布する稀産種である.国内では西日本の数箇所の古い針葉樹林に見つかっているが,この写真にあるように主としてスギの樹幹に生育している.高知県にて,2005年9月11日,川又明徳撮影.
